Carlson Hizon Fitness and Connect My Community

Want to know the secret to a successful business?

It’s playing to your own strengths, and outsourcing the things which take-up too much of your time, resources and energy.

Wollongong fitnes expert and personal trainer Carlson Hizon is all too aware of this. Having built a business on his strength (literally) as a personal trainer and gym owner, Carlson was one of the first clients to work with Connect My Community Consultancy’s Phuong Barraclough on NDIS registration.

After hearing about Phuong’s business when it launched, Carlson sought her help with NDIS registration. Although he was keen to offer personalised training services to NDIS participants, the paperwork, resources and time involved, were holding him back.

Working with Phuong, Carlson successfully became registered as an NDIS service provider, and now works with a number of NDIS clients one-on-one personal training.

“With our NDIS clients, it’s often about capacity building,” says Carlson.

“Helping them to excel at school or gain entry into the workforce, by committing to a schedule and building life skills to expand their options. It’s really satisfying to see how far they can go with this kind of support.”

In addition to personalised training programs, Carlson’s gym offers a number of other boutique fitness programs, including group classes, boot camps, fitness assessments, nutrition advice and massage.

Knowing his NDIS requirements are being looked after by Connect My Community Consultancy has been a huge relief for Carlson, and helped free-up his time to focus on growing his business.

Carlson Hizon Fitness recently moved to a new location, 37 – 39 Chapman St in Fairy Meadow, Wollongong, and Carlson and his team are focusing on building their community, while offering exceptional service to their members.

Phuong says she’s thrilled to have been able to help:

“Carlson Hizon Fitness is exactly the kind of small business I want to support with NDIS registration. Carlson and his team really care about the people they’re helping, and our Wollongong NDIS participants need access to these kinds of boutique businesses,” says Phuong.

Carlson says he’s already recommended Phuong’s NDIS registration services to other local businesses, and he feels confident knowing his processes are being looked after and his compliance is being maintained.

“I feel great peace of mind, knowing our NDIS compliance is in such safe hands. It’s definitely not my skillset, and getting it sorted would have taken time and resources I just don’t have,” says Carlson.
